Get to know me

I’m currently accepting new clients for virtual therapy in California with immediate openings available!

Welcome, and thank you for being here!

My name is Clarissa Chinchilla, and I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I graduated from the University of Hawaii in 2018 with a B.A. in Psychology. I went on to study at Pepperdine University where I earned my M.A. in Clinical Psychology in 2023.

I have extensive experience working with child and adolescents. My background has involved working with individuals with moderate to severe Autism Spectrum Disorder in home, school, and community based settings providing behavioral therapy. I have provided therapeutic services in school-based settings for elementary, middle, and high school students with training in crisis intervention and management.

In a private group practice setting, I gained experience working with adults, families, and couples. With adult clients, I have supported individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, and trauma. I work collaboratively with my clients to explore thought patterns, process emotions, and develop coping strategies that align with their personal values and goals. I draw from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and client-centered approaches to tailor therapy to each individual's unique needs.

I am passionate about helping others on their journey to healing and growth. My approach is calm, compassionate, and culturally sensitive, creating a safe and welcoming space for clients to be their authentic selves. I strive to meet each client where they are, honoring their pace and unique experiences. As an advocate for mental health, I aim to reduce stigma and support a positive, inclusive therapeutic experience.
